Head Extreme 2026 MP L Tennis Racket (280g)

The Head Extreme MP L 2026 is a lightweight and dynamic tennis racket designed for players who want to benefit from the Extreme series' characteristic combination of power, spin, and offensive nature, but prefer a more maneuverable and easier-to-handle design.

Its 280g weight allows for faster racket head speed, while the 100 in² head size provides a sufficiently large sweet spot and greater tolerance for off-center hits. The open string pattern of 16 × 19 further facilitates topspin generation and dynamic ball striking.

Lighter version of Extreme MP

The Extreme MP L retains the basic character of the standard MP, but thanks to its lower weight, it is easier to accelerate and less physically demanding. This is especially important for players who want to develop a full swing, but are not yet comfortable with rackets weighing around 300g.

The 325mm balance helps maintain the stability of the frame despite the lower weight, so the racket does not feel excessively light during ball contact.

Strong topspin and easy spin

The Extreme series was designed for modern play with a lot of spin. The open 16 × 19 pattern increases the freedom of string movement and supports the snapback effect, making it easier to impart strong topspin to the ball.

Thanks to its lower weight, the racket can be accelerated quickly, which particularly helps with vertical swing, baseline play, and dynamic transitions from defense to offense.

Spin Grommets – more string work

Spin Grommets technology increases the range of string movement during ball contact. It allows them to work harder and return faster to their original position, which promotes the generation of greater spin and additional shot dynamics.

In combination with the open 16 × 19 string pattern, this provides very good access to topspin without the need for a heavier, more demanding frame.

Hy-Bor – more stability without increasing weight

Hy-Bor technology has been used in the shaft construction. This aerospace-grade material is intended to increase the perceived stability of the racket during swing and ball contact, without requiring additional weight increase.

This is particularly important in the lightweight MP L model, as it allows for easy racket handling while achieving a more solid feel during stronger shots.

Sound Grommets – more refined feel

The Sound Grommets system increases string mobility and affects the way vibrations are transmitted during ball contact. This results in a cleaner and more pleasant shot feel, and the racket remains comfortable even during longer training sessions.

100 in² head – greater margin for error

The 100 in² / 645 cm² head size provides a good compromise between control and tolerance. A larger sweet spot makes it easier to maintain appropriate length and dynamics even when the ball is not hit perfectly in the center of the stringbed.

This makes the MP L much more player-friendly for a developing player than more demanding frames with smaller heads and greater weight.

23 / 26 / 21 mm profile – easier power

The variable frame profile of 23 / 26 / 21 mm supports the generation of additional dynamics and stability. The wider central part of the frame helps to effectively transfer energy to the ball, making the racket offer easier access to power even with a slightly shorter swing.

Who is the Head Extreme MP L 2026 for?

This model will be an excellent choice for intermediate players, who want to develop an offensive playing style and use a lot of spin, but need a racket that is easier to accelerate than the standard Extreme MP.

It will also be suitable for ambitious juniors transitioning to a full-size racket and for adult players who prefer lighter equipment and greater maneuverability.

  • for intermediate players,
  • for ambitious juniors transitioning to a 27" racket,
  • for those looking for a lighter alternative to the Extreme MP 300g,
  • for players who prefer strong topspin,
  • for tennis players who value fast racket handling,
  • for those who want to combine power, spin, and greater tolerance.

Extreme for players who want easier handling

The Head Extreme MP L 2026 retains the most characteristic features of the Extreme series, but presents them in a more accessible form. The lighter weight allows for faster swing preparation and easier racket handling, while the 100 in² head and 16 × 19 pattern provide high potential for power, spin, and an appropriate margin for error.

This is a very good step between lightweight recreational rackets and full-size professional models weighing around 300g.
