Head Boom JR.25 Alternate 2026 Tennis Racquet
The HEAD BOOM JR 25 racquet is designed for ambitious juniors aged 8–10 who want to develop a modern, offensive playing style. It combines explosive power with excellent ball feel, allowing young players to easily learn dynamic strokes and precise drop shots.
Its construction incorporates Hy-Bor material, also used in advanced aerospace industry, which increases frame stability and improves energy transfer upon ball contact. The racquet is also equipped with Auxetic 2.0 technology, enhancing stroke feel and allowing for better ball control during play.
The BOOM JR 25 model is based on the construction of the senior BOOM MP L and BOOM MP racquets, but has been adapted in size and weight to the needs of developing juniors. This allows young players to experience the character of a professional racquet while enjoying ease of maneuverability.
The modern blue design, inspired by HEAD's iconic racing ski collection, also makes the racquet visually stand out. The BOOM line, recommended by Coco Gauff and Lorenzo Musetti, was created for players who want to play dynamically, confidently, and with true enjoyment on the court.

Junior Racket Grip – Dimensions
Junior tennis rackets have smaller grips than standard adult rackets. Grip size refers to the circumference of the handle, most often given in two systems: European, i.e., G00000–G2, and American, where the circumference is expressed in inches.
For children and juniors, a well-chosen grip helps them hold the racket more securely, control the racket head more easily, and reduces unnecessary hand tension. A grip that is too large can hinder free wrist movement, while one that is too small can cause the hand to clench too tightly on the handle.
In practice, the grip size should be selected based on the size of the child's hand, and not solely on age or height. The table below may be helpful.
